A delegation of Change for Health-Nepal (CFH-Nepal) left for the United States of America on Tuesday to participate in an interantional symposium being orgnaized by Recreation, Sports and Tourism Department of Illonnois University Urbana Champaign
The delegation will participate in the symposium entitled ‘Forming Partnerships and Linkages in Sports for Development and Peace: Considerations, Tensions, and Strategies’ on March 7 and 8.
CFH-Nepal’s Vice President Machhindra Acharya and Secretary Lokendra Acharya are in the delegation.
Speaking before his departure to the USA, Vice President Acharya, who is also involved in tourism sector, said the workshop will prove beneficial for susintable development of Nepali tourism industry by promoting sports tourism. “Participation in this symposium will also help us to build international linkages and share skills and expeirences in sports development from participants from othe countries,” Acharya added.
Similarly, CFH Nepal Secretary Lokendra Acharya, who is also the president of Nepal Yongmudo Association, said CFH Nepal has been organizing ‘Sports for Health’ campaign in different schools realizing that sports and good health are indespnsable parts of today’s daily life. “Many countries have achieved important accomplishments in peace and development through sports. If we become successful in changing the way people look at sports, it alone would contribute a lot in development of sports in our country,” he added.
